Wolf Packaging strengthens team to support global growth
Wolk Packaging UK Ltd, the UK subsidiary of global packaging solutions provider Wolf has appointed Ian Richards as Sales Manager to further strengthen the development of its UK business.
Based at Wolf’s UK head office in Birmingham, Ian is responsible for boosting Wolf Packaging’s presence in the UK and supporting the group’s ambitious global growth plans, which include opening an office in Dubai to cover the UAE and the Middle East later this year.
Over the past year alone the Wolf Group has received orders for over 300 machines in 2018, while the group’s profitable revenue exceeded €30 million for the first time in the company’s history, thanks to huge growth in the snacks industry. Ian is tasked with building on that growth going forward.
Ian joined Wolf in February from Ishida Europe where he was snacks application manager. He was responsible for product development for small and large-scale applications projects in the snack industry. Prior to that Ian spent 11 years in various technical roles as part of the snack product team at Ishida.
Since joining Wolf, Ian has been assisting in the development of UK business’ demonstration centre. The demonstration facility was set up so that customers can test designs and ensure that they purchase the perfect packaging solution for their business needs.
Wolf Packaging UK managing director Andy Neal said:
“Ian brings more than 15 years of packaging industry experience, including 11 years with Ishida Europe, where he gained valuable expertise in the snack food market.
“Ian has extensive experience, combined with a strong technical background and we are really excited to have him on the team. He will most certainly be a great asset!”
Commenting on his new role Ian said:
“I am delighted to be joining Wolf and looking forward to helping to drive the UK business forward.
“As application manager at Ishida my key objectives were to give technical sales and applications support across the sales and product development functions and I aim to use my experience to do the same at Wolf.”
Ian Richards’ appointment builds on an incredibly successful 2018 for Wolf Packaging, in which it celebrated its 30th Anniversary, an important milestone for the company. It was also a busy year which saw the firm participate in more than 20 trade shows around the world.
Moreover, Wolf’s Chinese production site celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2018. This year, Wolf China will be increasing its VFFS machine output to 200 VFFS machines based on orders already received.
